Story Notes
- For 40 days, the huge Goliath challenged any Israelite to fight him.
- Jesse sent David to the battlefield to check on his brothers.
- David was angry when he heard Goliath's challenge.
- David told Saul he could defeat Goliath because God helped him kill lions and bears.
- David didn't wear Saul's armor. He faced Goliath with only a staff and a sling.
- Goliath mocked David and cursed him by his gods.
- David said God would defeat Goliath to show the world that Israel's God was real.
- David's first shot hit Goliath in the head and he fell down DEAD.
Important Ideas
- The God of Israel is real and he saves his people.
- Jesus, the good shepherd, defeated our greatest enemy: sin!
