Story Notes
- The Israelites rejected God and asked for a king.
- Samuel warned them about what a king would do, but they wanted one anyways.
- Saul ended up at Samuel's house while looking for lost donkeys.
- God told Samuel that Saul was the one he'd chosen to be king.
- Samuel anointed Saul to be king.
- God gave many signs to show Saul that he'd be with him.
- God's Spirit lived powerfully with Saul.
- When Saul was chosen to be king, he was hiding among the supplies.
Important Ideas
- Whether you like it or not, God is the king of the universe.
- Jesus the Messiah was anointed to save us from our sins.
