Story Notes
- Saul disobeyed God's command to destroy the Amalekites.
- Saul told Samuel he planned to sacrifice the Amalekites'animals as a gift to God.
- Samuel told Saul that it's more important to obey God than to give him sacrifices.
- Because Saul disobeyed, Samuel said God would tear the kingdom from Saul.
- God told sad Samuel to go to Jesse's to anoint one of his sons to be king.
- God told Samuel, “Don’t care about how they look because I look at the heart.”
- Seven of Jesse's sons stood before Samuel, but God said he hadn't chosen them.
- David, the youngest son, was out watching the sheep. God told Samuel to anoint him to be king.
Important Ideas
- Obeying God is more important than sacrifice.
- God sees everything, even what we think and feel.
