Story  Notes

• Three months after leaving Egypt, the Israelites camped at MOUNT Sinai.
• On the mountain, God told Moses, “If my people obey me, they will be my special TREASURE.”
• When Moses shared God’s message to the people, they said, “We’ll DO all God says.”
• God told Moses, “PREPARE the people. In three days, I will come meet with you on this mountain.”
• God came down on Mount Sinai with FIRE, thunder, lightning, smoke, and an earthquake.
• From the rumbling mountain, God spoke ten COMMANDMENTS to his people.
• Because they were scared to death, the people asked Moses to SPEAK with God for them.
• Moses went up the mountain to God. For 40 days, God spoke the words of his law to him.

 

Important Idea

The Lord is a God to be FEARED.

 

Memory Verse

Psalm 128:1, ESV – Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways!

• Blessed – point to your cheeks and smile
• Everyone – gesture both arms out in a big circle
• Fears – put your hands on your cheeks and look scared
• Lord – point up
• Walks – march in place
• Ways – open your palms like opening a Bible and pretend to read it
